SUNDAY REFLECTION (Matthew 25:1-13)

 From today's Gospel is that being prepared is not something we should only do when we know that something important is about to happen. Sometimes, we wait until the last minute before we start doing what we are supposed to do. Just like in the parable of the ten virgins, five of them were wise because they brought extra oil for their lamps, while the other five were not prepared and eventually ran out of oil while waiting for the bridegroom.

The verse that struck me is, Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour. (Matthew 25:13) This verse reminds me that we should not wait for the perfect time or for something bad to happen before we remember God and strengthen our faith. As a student, there are times when I become too focused on my studies, school activities, and other responsibilities that I sometimes forget to make time for prayer. There are also moments when I only become closer to God when I am worried, afraid, or facing difficulties. But this Gospel reminds me that my relationship with Him should not depend on what I am going through. I should continue trusting Him and making time for Him, even when everything seems fine.

I think God is reminding us that faith is something we need to take care of every day. We cannot just depend on other people's prayers or faith because having a relationship with God is also our personal responsibility. Other people can guide us and encourage us, but we are the ones who need to choose to follow Him. We do not know what will happen tomorrow, so instead of waiting for the right moment to become closer to God, we should start now. Moving forward, I will try to be more consistent with my prayers and remember Him not only during difficult times but also during the good days. I know I am not perfect, and there are times when I make mistakes, but I want to keep improving my faith and become more prepared to welcome God into my life.

Lord, thank You for reminding us through today's Gospel that we should always be prepared and keep our faith alive. Please forgive me for the times I become too busy with worldly things and forget to give You the time You deserve. Help me become more consistent in praying and trusting You, even when I do not understand what is happening in my life. Guide me in making the right decisions and teach me not to wait until difficulties come before I call upon You. May my faith remain strong, and may I always be ready to welcome You into my heart. This I pray in Jesus name, Amen.

SUNDAY REFLECTION (Matthew 16:21-27)

 In matthew 16:21-27, Jesus reminds His disciples that following Him is not always easy. He tells them that He must suffer, be rejected, and eventually be killed, but Peter finds it difficult to accept this. Jesus then teaches that anyone who wants to follow Him must be willing to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him. This Gospel makes me realize that life will not always go according to what I want. There will be struggles, disappointments, and sacrifices, but these challenges can help me become stronger and closer to God. SUNDAY REFLECTION (Matthew 21:28-32)

 Today’s Gospel reminds us that following God is not about being perfect or never making mistakes. We are all sinners, and there will be times when we disappoint God, the people around us, and even ourselves. The first son initially refused his father, but he eventually changed his mind and did what his father asked. This shows that our mistakes do not define us forever. What truly matters is having the humility to recognize when we have gone wrong, repent, and turn back to God. This Gospel also makes me reflect on what it truly means to be a follower of God.
